Social

After each Thursday meeting we go to the nearby Lukin pub on Conway Street for a drink and chat. The pub also does good food so please do come along.

We also meet for coffee on Sundays after the 11am Mass at St Charles Borromeo at yumchaa (9-11 Tottenham Street, W1T 2AQ). Feel free to come to Mass and head over with others from the group or else come and find us in yumchaa around 12.30pm.

We also organise other social events which you can find out about by subscribing to our Yahoo email distribution list.  Please send an email to welcome@soulfoodgroup.org if you want to be added to this. Note, you do not need to have a Yahoo email address to join it.

Ceilidh – Friday 3rd February

Soul Food invites you to a ceilidh for an evening of dancing and relaxation. Ceilidhs are very popular with young Scots and students at Scottish universities. A Ceilidh (pronounced ”kay-lee”) is folk dancing and informal music for those that don’t know. They are lots of fun, very sociable and easy for non dancers to join in with – no previous experience required!  There’s no set dress code, but tartan is appreciated. Advisable to wear comfy shoes!

The ceilidh we will be going to is is hosted by the Ceilidh Club at Cecil Sharp House (2 Regents Park Road, NW1 7AY). They will provide the band and the dance caller who will talk us through the dance steps.

The ceildh starts at 8pm and costs £14.50.  Advance tickets have sold out so get there at 7pm to be sure of buying a ticket on the door!
